Brown Bread Recipe

This recipe makes 1 loaf of bread

Cake Bread

Ingredients

4 handfuls of Self-raising flour

2 handfuls of wholemeal flour

2 cups of Butermilk

1 pinch of salt

1 cup of water

1/4 cup of self-raising flour

Method

Preheat the oven to:
Gas Mark 6, 200°C (400°F)

ovens 200 degrees

Mix the flour & salt in a bowl

Add the butermilk and water

The mixture should resemble cooked stir about (porridge)

Little by little add about 1/4 a mug of flour,
this will dry out the mixture, gently fold
and slap the flour into the mixture

Place mixture in a greased cake tin

Bake for 60 – 90 minutes 200°C (400°F)

ovens 200 degrees

The cake should sound hollow when tapped underneath

Cover with a damp tea towel or dish cloth,

this will keep the bread nice and soft
